Patricia Hagen

September 2 - October 2, 2010

Opening Reception: 5 - 8pm
First Thursday, September 2, 2010

Punch Gallery presents Spill, new oil paintings and watercolors by Patricia Hagen. In these works, Hagen continues her investigation into the representation of inter-dependant organic systems. Originally inspired by looking at electron-microscope images of various cells and viruses, the paintings and sculpture have now taken on their own abstract form. Her intent is that these abstractions render the essence of organic life forms and their struggle to survive. The massing of these forms has recently become somewhat figurative and, for Hagen, represents a vision of humanity as a lumbering oaf whose intentions are often good but seldom effectual.

Patricia Hagen lives and works in Seattle. She received her MFA from California College of the Arts in 1994 and has shown her work around the country.

Hours: Noon-5pm Thurs-Sat,
